Neptune in Aries: A Call to Hope and Liberation

Hi Friends,

Well, we just made it through eclipse season—how are you holding up? I know, that’s a loaded question.

I’ve heard story after story, and I’ve lived story after story, of people and myself saying, I am ready for this to be over. I don’t know if my body can take this any longer. On the ground, it’s a real-life soap opera. And every time I look at the planets, I see something intense, active, and transformative, playing out in the sky.

But maybe I’m an idealist, because what I also see is HOPE.

I’m not trying to bypass the hard stuff—I’m actually trying to integrate it. To acknowledge it. To, dare I say, welcome it? Because what I’ve learned is that shutting out the hard things only makes them worse. When I meet them instead—when I get familiar with them, understand what they’re asking of me—I find something deeper. A fuller, truer way of being alive.

And today, as Neptune enters Aries, this invites us into a new way of living.  A way rooted in hope, courage, and liberation from the forces—internal and external—that try to keep us small, silent, or afraid.

But let’s be real—this transit isn’t easy. Neptune enters Aries for the first time in 165 years! None of us have lived through this before. The last time Neptune entered Aries, the world was on the brink of massive change—the lead-up to the Civil War, the rise of movements that reshaped society. Aries is fire, action, initiation. Neptune is dreams, illusions, and spirituality. When these energies collide, we can feel untethered, uncertain. Like stepping into something brand new without a roadmap.

I keep thinking about how Moses must have felt at the burning bush. God told him he was to lead the Israelites out of Egypt—out of generations of oppression and slavery—into a future that must have seemed impossible. I can imagine he felt untethered, unworthy, and uncertain.

And then, Moses asked for a name—the name of the One who was sending him.

God answered: I AM WHO I AM.

Identity. Presence. Divinity.

As image-bearers of the I AM, a reflection of divine presence, they were being called forward—to find their true place, a place of freedom, compassion, and love. This was not a distant or abstract idea—it was meant to be lived, breathed, and practiced.

Moses didn’t just see God—he saw his own purpose. And that revelation gave him the strength to return to Egypt and confront systems of oppression and power head-on.

But here’s what we often overlook: the Israelites who left Egypt weren’t just one people group. The exodus included Egyptians and anyone who longed for freedom—anyone willing to step into the unknown and walk toward something new. Liberation was never meant for a select few; it was for all who dared to leave the systems that had defined and confined them.

I would never claim to understand the reality of literal enslavement, but I do know what it feels like to be trapped—to be bound by systems, by rules, by expectations that tell me who I should be. I know the fear of stepping outside of what feels safe, even when that so-called safety is keeping me small. And I have seen oppressive structures—whether societal or internal—rely on fear to keep us from stepping into who we truly are.

Neptune moving into Aries feels like a burning bush moment. A call we can’t ignore. Aries is about action, and Neptune, is asking us to bring what we’ve envisioned into the real world.

Does it scare me? Yes.
But is it possible? That’s the question we’re all left to wrestle with. And yet, I can’t shake the feeling that we’re being called forward—toward something real, something free, something worth hoping for.

I’ve seen freedom take root. I’ve seen people break away from harm, communities rise up in support, and life return to those who were told they were wrong just for existing. Even grief has deepened relationships at the soul level. And that feels like good news—not the kind that ignores pain, but the kind that reminds us: there is life in freedom and connection.

So as Neptune leaves Pisces’ dreams behind and ignites Aries’ fire, I invite you to step into this with me. Let’s hold on to hope together. Let’s name the systems—within and around us—that need to be broken. Let’s walk toward freedom together. Let’s take the next step—however uncertain—with courage, with trust, and with each other.
